Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
Kadazan2Go is a Kadazan language-learning app published by Nicolas Mehlei.
This policy is short because the app does very little with your data. Kadazan2Go sends a small amount of anonymous information to help improve the app, and you can turn that off at any time.
What Kadazan2Go collects
Kadazan2Go collects anonymous usage data and crash reports. It does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, advertising ID or anything else that identifies you. There is no account and no sign-in.
Usage data tells us how the app is used, so we know what to improve:
- that the app was opened, and the app version, Android version and device language
- which quiz direction you chose and your score when you finish a quiz
- which words you answered, and whether you got them right
- which words you opened in the dictionary and which category you picked
- how many results a search returned. We never see what you typed into search.
Crash reports are sent if the app crashes: the technical error report, the app version, your Android version and device model.
None of this is tied to a user ID, and nothing is stored on your device that would let us recognise you from one day to the next. We cannot tell who you are, and we cannot connect one session to another.
Where it goes
Usage data goes to aptabase.nm-hosts.de and crash reports go to glitchtip.nm-hosts.de. Both are servers run by the publisher of Kadazan2Go. No outside analytics or advertising company receives this data.
Why there is no consent prompt
The data is anonymous: it cannot be used to identify you, so it is not personal information. It is switched on by default and you can switch it off whenever you like.
Turning it off
Open Settings in the app and turn off Share anonymous usage and crash data. It takes effect immediately, and nothing further is sent.
What Kadazan2Go stores on your device
The app saves your learning progress locally, on your own device:
- which words you have answered correctly or incorrectly, and how often
- when you last saw each word
- your completed quiz results
- your preferences, such as quiz length and language direction
Your progress itself stays on your device. It is not backed up anywhere and we cannot see it. Only the anonymous events described above are sent, and only while the setting above is on.
You can erase all of it at any time from Settings → Reset progress, or by clearing the app's data in Android settings. Uninstalling Kadazan2Go removes it entirely.
The dictionary
The Kadazan, English and Bahasa Malaysia dictionary is bundled inside the app. Kadazan2Go does not download it, so browsing and quizzing work with no network connection. Without a connection the app works exactly the same; anonymous data is only sent when one is available.
Permissions
Kadazan2Go requests only:
Vibration, used for haptic feedback when you answer a quiz question.
Internet access, used only to send the anonymous usage data and crash reports described above.
It does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, or any other personal data.
Children
Kadazan2Go is intended for people aged 13 and over. Because the data it sends is anonymous and cannot be linked to a person, it does not collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Third parties
Kadazan2Go contains no advertising and no third-party tracking. The analytics and crash-reporting software inside the app only talks to the publisher's own servers named above. No data is sold or shared with anyone.
The app is distributed through Google Play. Google collects its own data about app installs and usage under Google's privacy policy, which is outside our control and applies to every app on the store.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here and the date above updated. If a future version of Kadazan2Go ever collects anything new, that will be stated plainly here before the feature ships.
